Don’t Fall Off Course!

With the introduction of my new Business Leadership Journal, so many people have taken action to set themselves up for success in 2012 by purchasing their own copy of the Journal.  This is no small feat!  The book is letter sized (A4) and 5 cm (1.5 inches) thick!  Fortunately the coil binding makes it manageable!

The journal guides you through a year long system that keeps you on the mark.  The perpetual format lets you start at any time.  Take it one day at a time and before you know it you will create new habits, new ways to view your business and career actions and results.

Lately I have been helping many business professionals (both employed and self-employed) set their goals for the up-coming year.  There are so many components to setting and achieving your goals.  This week, I am speaking about some of the reasons my journal can help you raise the bar and accomplish more!

Get Clear

Getting clear on your big picture vision and what you want to achieve is so important. As George Lucas said, “Dreams are extremely important. You can’t do it unless you imagine it.”    How do you know where you are going if you can’t see it?  How will you know when you are successful if you don’t have a specific target?

Part of getting clear includes establishing your personal or business vision and mission.  Knowing your own values is also a critical component to knowing what is important to you.  This process takes time and effort –let’s face it… success comes with commitment and energy!

Commit to Yourself

When you write your goals down, you make a commitment to yourself .   This step is often overlooked or underplayed.  Resolutions are not successful for most people for two reasons… 1) They are set without a lot of forethought and planning 2) They are not written down.

Once you write them down, your brain acknowledges your goal in a different way.  It makes it real instead of  just being a transient thought.  Once you write your goals, post them where you can see them every day.  This keeps your goals front and centre!

Be Accountable

Daily journalling is one way to keep you accountable to the commitment you made to yourself.  In less than 10 minutes a day you are able to review your day, identify what were your key successes for the day, what were your key insights?  Writing down your actions, thoughts, and ideas will create a positive mindset so you gain clarity and purpose.

Keep the Momentum

Thanks to my clients, I have now created a new support program to work in conjunction with the Journal so that you keep on track and learning as you move forward.   The Journal Success Team will provide opportunities for you to stay motivated to your goals, learn tips and tricks from other team members, gain insights for success.
